Nick’s first experience in the behavioral health field came as an addictions counselor. For four years, he worked directly with individuals struggling with substance use disorders, providing compassionate guidance and steady support. During these years, he discovered the transformative power of empathy and structured care. His commitment to his clients and his natural leadership abilities soon led to his promotion as Director of Substance Abuse Services at a private outpatient facility. This position allowed him to develop a broader vision for recovery that focused on more than just treatment, but restoring hope and helping people rebuild their lives in meaningful ways. In June 2017, that vision took tangible form when Dr. DeSimone founded Lifetime Recovery in Mullica Hill, New Jersey. The center was designed around a holistic model of care, offering personalized treatment plans that address the physical, emotional, and psychological aspects of addiction. Dr. DeSimone’s philosophy empowers individuals to overcome addiction and rediscover their purpose and self-worth. Building on that success, Nick extended his mission in April 2021 by creating Renewed Light Mental Health in West Deptford, New Jersey. This second outpatient center was established to meet the growing need for mental health services, offering care for individuals facing conditions such as depression, anxiety, trauma, bipolar disorder, and grief. The facility follows the same holistic principles as Lifetime Recovery, emphasizing personalized support, self-awareness, and emotional healing. Under his leadership, Renewed Light has become a trusted space for individuals seeking to restore balance and improve their quality of life. Dr. DeSimone’s professional and academic achievements demonstrate his dedication to excellence in his field. He holds a Bachelor of Science from Rowan University and a Master of Science in Addiction Counseling from Grand Canyon University, which he completed in 2015. He earned his PhD in General Psychology, focusing on Performance Psychology in April 2021, exploring how mental skills contribute to overall well-being and achievement. Professionally, he has been a Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC) since 2017 and became a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in 2022.
