Quentin Geczy, based in London, attended Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut, before continuing his education at the University of Sydney Medical School for two years. He plans to finish his medical studies closer to Europe while exploring opportunities in consulting and finance, specifically focusing on healthcare. While navigating the medical school application process, Quentin remains active in health and education through research and tutoring. He operates a private education business, supporting students in STEM subjects and helping them with university admissions. Additionally, he is building an online business offering educational resources for UK high school exams (GCSEs, A-Levels), medical exams (BMAT, UCAT, GAMSAT, MCAT), and the SAT. After completing high school in Australia, Geczy moved to the United States in 2016 to pursue his passion for science and economics. He earned a Bachelor's in Molecular Cellular Development Biology (MCDB) and Economics from Yale University. While at Yale, he gained expertise in handling large datasets using R and applying theoretical models to solve complex problems in economics, finance, and accounting. Quentin’s MCDB studies were an extension of his pre-med coursework, and his thesis, titled “Psychedelic Renaissance in Psychiatry,” focused on the interaction of the 5-HT2A receptor with psychedelics to increase neuroplasticity. This work has contributed to advancements in the treatment of mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, and PTSD. His Economics and MCDB studies have provided Geczy with valuable analytical reasoning skills and the ability to approach complex systems with a clear, evidence-based mindset. These fields have also helped him develop strong communication skills, enabling him to convey complicated ideas to a broad audience. Quentin was also a Division I Varsity Athlete at Yale, excelling in Lightweight Crew. He balanced the demands of academics and athletics, which taught him discipline, teamwork, resilience, and leadership. Geczy’s interest in medicine began early in life after a cycling accident that resulted in a fractured femur. Over the years, he faced other health challenges, including a severe accident that ended his athletic career but deepened his fascination with medicine and the human body. After graduating from Yale, Quentin attended the University of Sydney Medical School, where he focused on Orthopedic Surgery, Cardiothoracic Surgery, and General Surgery. He completed his MD thesis and participated in clinical rotations in various specialties, gaining hands-on experience in Psychiatry, Emergency Medicine, and General Practice. Geczy also contributed to research at Sydney Musculoskeletal Health, co-authoring articles on osteoarthritis treatment. His clinical experience extends to London, Melbourne, and German medical institutions. For five years, Quentin has tutored astrology, chemistry, physics, and mathematics, helping students prepare for exams and guiding student-athletes through college recruitment. His business has continued to grow, and he maintains strong relationships with clients throughout the university admissions journey. Fluent in French, German, and English, Geczy holds multiple citizenships. Outside of his academic and professional work, he enjoys staying active by cycling, running, swimming, and skiing. He continues to apply his diverse skills and knowledge to positively impact education, healthcare, and beyond.
