"Bored to Death of Death"

Every night, like a choreographed dance, the ghost appears above Zack’s bed
It zooms around lil’ Zack’s room, and whispers mean thoughts in Zack’s head
Zack knows the words aren’t true and the ghost is just looking to cause trouble
But Zack nicely plays along, pretending he’s afraid of the ectoplasmic bubble.

Because a long, long time ago, the sad ghost died in this very room
Too angry to travel onto the Other Side, this room has become its tomb.
So bored of death but with anger to express, the restless spirit haunts the night
And if anyone sleeps in this bedroom, he’ll try to give them a fright!

Zack can sense it wants attention, so he tries to perform the role
Of a boy deathly scared of ghosts, and that this haunting is taking its toll
He knows the ghost is just confused, and struggling to deal with its fate
And he doesn’t want it to be sad, so he acts like the haunting is going great.

Once the ghost is done, and releases all its fury so ancient and deep
The specter always fades away, and Zack smiles then gets some sleep.
