Formed in 2020 and comprised of Thomas FINchum and Alex MARshall, FINMAR is a true convergence of artistry, songwriting, musicality, and genres. Both artists in their own right, Finchum and Marshall each bring a unique perspective that helps create an entirely new sonic landscape for their version of “country-pop”. It is no doubt that listeners will hear Finchum’s more traditional country influences in their true to life story telling as well as Marshall’s pop melodic hooks and modern production. Together, they’ve created a sound that is entirely their own. Their debut single “Breakable” exemplifies this in every facet of the song. The lyric is a fresh twist on the typical country trope of relationship struggles, but it is sung in a pop-heavy cadence. In the same manner, the production includes electric guitars reminiscent of the bars on broadway as well as rhythmic percussion/synth that is more indicative of pop radio.
