Stefano Cagol is an Italian contemporary artist whose practice explores the relationship between human activity, energy, environmental transformation, and geopolitical borders. Working through performances, installations, video, and site‑specific actions, his work addresses the ecological and symbolic dimensions of global change. He has participated in major international exhibitions and biennials, and his work has been presented in museums, public spaces, and remote environments across Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and the Arctic regions. He has participated in the 59th, 55th, and 54th Venice Biennale, RAK Biennale (2026), the 3rd and 2nd Something Else – Off Biennale Cairo, Manifesta 11 in Zurich, the 14th Curitiba Biennale, the 1st Xinjiang Biennale, and the 1st Singapore Biennale. Solo shows include museums such as the Graeco-Roman Museum of Alexandria (2025), MAC in Lissone (2023), CCA Center for Contemporary Art in Tel Aviv (2021), MA*GA in Gallarate (2019), Galleria Civica-Mart di Trento (2016), ZKM Karlsruhe (2012), and Mart – Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art of Trento and Rovereto (2000). He studied at the Accademia di Brera in Milan and at Ryerson University in Toronto with a post-doctoral fellowship from the Canadian Government.
